The Lore of the New World

Many Moons ago, brave adventurers Discovered a vast continent….

Beyond the familiar shores of Coventaris lies a continent unlike anything the people of the old world had ever known.

Avera.

Vast forests stretch across its lands, unfamiliar creatures roam its plains, and plants never before documented grow beneath its skies. Even its landscapes seem to change from one region to the next — from quiet coastal settlements to endless fields, deep forests, and lands where no explorer has yet set foot.

When Avera was first discovered, many believed the continent would simply become another land to settle.

They were wrong.

Avera was not empty.

It was alive.

The first settlers soon learned that every step beyond the safety of the shores brought them deeper into a world they barely understood. Maps ended. Trails disappeared. Strange discoveries became commonplace.

And so the exploration of Avera began.

Not as a conquest, but as a question:

What else is out there?

Generations later, much of Avera remains uncharted.

The maps are unfinished. The creatures are still being discovered. And somewhere beyond the last known path, there are places no one has seen before.

This is the world the Averan Guild has sworn to explore.

The Averan Guild

As the settlements of Avera grew, so did the desire to discover what lay beyond them.

At first, expeditions were small and unorganized. Adventurers ventured into the unknown with little more than their supplies, their maps, and a willingness to take the risk. Some returned with remarkable discoveries. Others returned with more questions than answers.

It soon became clear that exploring Avera alone would never be enough.

And so, the Averan Guild was founded.

The Guild became a place where explorers could gather, share their knowledge, record their discoveries, and prepare for journeys beyond the known world. Maps were drawn, creatures were documented, unfamiliar plants were studied, and stories from distant expeditions were carefully preserved.

But the Guild was never meant to conquer Avera.

It was created to understand it.

Today, anyone with enough curiosity to venture beyond the familiar may find a place within its walls.

There are still paths waiting to be mapped, creatures waiting to be discovered, and countless stories waiting to be written.

The Guild simply intends to be there when they are.

The Guilds Creed

Go where the map ends.

Ask before you name.
The unknown is not ours to claim simply because we have found it.

Look before you fear.
Not every strange thing is a danger, and not every danger looks strange.

Leave a mark, not a scar.
Avera was here before us, and it will remain after us.

Write what you witness.
A forgotten trail can be found again. A forgotten discovery cannot.

Share what you learn.
Knowledge kept by one explorer ends with them. Knowledge shared becomes a path for others.

And when the road divides—
take the road no one has mapped.

For the Guild does not seek to conquer Avera.
We seek to know it.

The Kingdom of Avera

When the first settlers arrived upon the shores of Avera, there was no kingdom waiting for them.

There were only unfamiliar shores, rough settlements, and a vast continent stretching beyond the horizon.

Over time, the scattered settlements began to grow. Roads were built, farms were established, and small communities slowly became towns. What began as a handful of pioneers eventually became the foundations of something much greater.

The Kingdom of Avera was born.

Its capital was established along the coast, where the first ships had arrived, becoming a place of trade, gathering, and new beginnings. From there, the kingdom slowly spread inland, though much of the continent remained untouched.

Even now, the Kingdom of Avera is still young.

Its borders mark only a fraction of the continent, while beyond them lie forests, plains, mountains, and lands that remain unknown to its people.

The kingdom may have been built on the shores of Avera—

but its story has only just begun.

An Vern

Tucked away along the shores of Avera lies a small settlement known as An Veren.

It is not a grand city, nor is it home to towering castles or bustling streets. Compared to the growing cities of the kingdom, An Veren is little more than a collection of homes, shops, farms, and well-worn paths gathered around the coast.

But to those who know it, An Veren is much more than that.

It was here that some of the earliest explorers began their journeys into the unknown. And it was here that the foundations of the Averan Guild were eventually laid.

The village has since become a familiar stopping point for adventurers preparing to leave the known roads behind. Travelers come to stock up on supplies, share stories at the local tavern, and perhaps find someone willing to join them on their next expedition.

Life in An Veren is quiet.

At least, it usually is.

For beyond the last houses lies a world that remains largely unexplored — and every now and then, someone returns from beyond the horizon carrying a strange discovery, a new story, or a map with a little more ink on it than before.

For many, An Veren is simply home.
